Hi, I’m Jose Escorcia
Freelance Filmmaker, Director & Editor

I am originally from San Francisco, California. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue movie making and hopefully achieve the goal of making feature films as a long term career.

I have studied 3 years at New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. I gained awards during my studies and outside of school including "Best Short Film" and " Best Director". After graduating I decided to freelance; offering my services as a filmmaker, video and editor for multiple productions.

I pride myself on having a natural eye for composition and being able to create strong cinematic imagery in any environment.

I am currently available for freelance Directing, Editing work throughout the US, as well as internationally.

As a film director, I've always been captivated by the power of cinema. Growing up as a movie geek, I found solace and inspiration in the immersive worlds crafted by visionaries like John Carpenter, Sam Raimi, and Akira Kurosawa. Their work not only served as a source of mentorship but also instilled in me the belief that with passion and determination, anything is possible.

My journey into filmmaking was not without its challenges. Coming from a tough and dangerous neighborhood and a low-income immigrant family, I witnessed firsthand the sacrifices my parents made to provide for us. Despite the financial constraints, I refused to let circumstances dictate my dreams. Instead, I channeled my hunger for storytelling into my craft, undeterred by limitations in budget or equipment.

The adversity I faced instilled in me a sense of appreciation and urgency, driving me to push boundaries and strive for excellence. My family's unwavering support and sacrifices have been the cornerstone of my journey, reminding me that with love and perseverance, anything is achievable.
